Vince Machuga
Vincent Machuga is a freshman at Canfield High School. He has lived in Canfield  all of his life.  Vince had a love-hate relationship with his classes for the first semester, but he plans on putting in a lot of work throughout the rest of his high school career, and he wants to make sure he is always at the top of his game.  

He is involved in various activities and he is interested in different activities. Currently, Machuga is involved in Speech and Debate, baseball and intramural basketball.

There are various categories that one can compete in for Speech and Debate.  The category that Vince chose is Original Oratory. In Original Oratory, often abbreviated as OO, the competitor writes a speech on any topic of interest.  

One of his favorite accomplishments was when he got first place in Original Oratory on his birthday at a Speech and Debate Tournament in Edison near Cleveland.  

One of his inspirations for joining the team comes from his grandfather, who coached for the Austintown Speech and Debate team for about 40 years. Throughout his career, his team has been rewarded with fifteen state championship trophies in team sweepstakes. He says that his family is essentially a speech and debate family.

In terms of sports, Vince Machuga really enjoys playing baseball. Vince Machuga has played baseball for as long as he can remember.  His brother played baseball for the original Glaciers team.  Vince is currently on the Glaciers team.  He says that the Glaciers team travels all around the country and that he is a catcher and second baseman.

Vince also plays intramural basketball with various people throughout Canfield High School.  He plays for team Morchack.
