Sam Bixel, Junior Contributor

Sam Bixel is a junior at Canfield High School and plays football and runs track.

Sam lives with a family of four consisting of his mom April, his dad Patrick, sister Charlotte and his dog Whitney.

Sam enjoys his time running track. Last year's season came to a short end, while rounding the corner Sam fell to his knees in agony because he had just fractured his growth plate in his hip. Sam was devastated that he couldn't finish out the 2021 season as a sophomore. So he dedicated his off season to recovering to get back on the track.

Sam also enjoys his time playing football. He plays wide receiver and corner. Sam helped his team get to regionals but sadly ended their season to Chardon. He hopes that the team will make it back to where they were last year, or even better than they did last year.

According to Sam, “The football team is training hard to get back and make it to state.”

They are hopeful and think they have a good chance to win it.

Bixel spends his free time hanging out with friends and spending time with his family.

Sam said, “I hate playing board games and everytime we play them, I always make a point to beat my sister.”

When he plays blackjack or poker with his family he always makes sure to take all his sister's money. Sam loves to play with his dog, a white Shiba Inu named Whitney. She likes to lay in Sam's bed and he enjoys the company.
