Family is an important part of everyone's lives, whether its biological or not.

For Mia Malvasi, her relationship with her sister is an essential element in her life.

Mia’s sister Giana is her role model because of everything she’s battled throughout her life.

Mia said, “Giana has been through a lot, and to see her overcome those obstacles has been inspiring to watch as her younger sister.”

Mia values her relationship with her sister because she is nine years older than her, and has learned and experienced more from life.

Mia can always go to her sister for any advice, and she knows she will always be honest and there to help Mia through any struggles.

“My sister is my rock and I know I can go to her for anything and everything because she will always be there for me,” she elaborated.

No matter what happens in either one of their lives they will always be there for each other.

“We may get into silly altercations, but in the end we always go back to being normal sisters and nothing has changed, but when Gi moved an hour and a half away for physicians school it's been hard because I barely see her anymore, but we still facetime every day,” she said.

The bond that Mia has with her sister is valuable and unchangeable even if they are not in the same city.

“Growing up with an older sister has been like having a best friend for life, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. No matter where me and my sister ended up she will always be my friend for life,” she concluded.
