Jackie Palusak, Senior Contributor

Seventeen year old Jackie Palusak who moved to Canfield freshman year of high school quickly built her reputation as one of the smartest students in the school.

Jackie is a very hard worker who likes to challenge herself and has taken all of the AP and CCP classes that she can. Jackie plans on going into medicine in Ohio. While she hasn’t set foot on a specific profession she is most interested in Neurology, Anesthesiology, and Pediatrics. She loves to help others and participate in the community.

Jackie is a part of the National Honor society where she has done community work at churches and is involved with doing volunteer work at Applewood swim club.  Jackie is president of the NHS club at Canfield high school. She is also involved in many school activities such as preparing for the Prom dance. She is also involved in almost all of the clubs offered at Canfield high school.

Aside from academics, Jackie is currently a member of the varsity swim team. She also played tennis and was a competitive dancer which she was very passionate about until freshman year of high school. Freshman year of high school was when Jackie realized she loved swimming more than competitive dancing.

Outside of school Jackie works a whopping three jobs at Applewood Swim Club, Canfield Swim Club, and gives swim lessons at Creekside. Applewood is her favorite job and is there all the time because that is where she met her closest friends and also learned to swim. While she may love Applewood, working at Creekside and doing swim lessons is not one of Jackie's favorite jobs but “It brings in the money,” as she said.

Overall, Jackie is a very hard working student who also likes to enjoy herself when doing the things she loves.
