Eliza Blasko

Eliza Blasko is a senior at Canfield High School. She dances competitively at Epic Dance Complex and did cheerleading for two years in middle school. This will be her fourth year at CHS.

During the summer, when she’s not at cheer practice, she is spending the majority of her time with her friends and family.

She comes from a family of five, with one sister and a 12-year-old dog named Homer.

Her sister Mariah is only two years older than her, so growing up they were incredibly close. They played Barbies as children and spent many hours outdoors.

“I’m grateful for the memories of how much she and I were outside,” Blasko said as she reflected on how much more adventurous kids were when there was less technology.

The pair spent more time outdoors, with their family than they did in. Much of their summer is spent tubing on the waters of Lake Milton, in their boat or spending time with the extended family.

Every year since Eliza was born, her parents and sister have spent all six days at the Canfield Fair in their camper with the entire family: aunts, uncles, and cousins!

With over 21 cousins, every birthday and holiday was an enormous affair! Christmas would be spent at the Blasko house and when not celebrating anything special, they would gather to watch storms on the large deck.

For as long as she can recall, Eliza and her family have always been close to one another. Though states may separate them, nothing could break the incredible bond they share.
