Aamna started her school year before the rest of us did with one of her longtime activities: tennis. She has been playing tennis since she was eight years old and has been waiting for this year's seasons in partial for a while now.

This year she started to play more doubles - this is a two on two player match. She plays these games with tennis teammates Lily Lacombe and Emma Dodie. Aamna is still on the fence about playing tennis after high school but if she would she hopes to play on a wreck team or walk on tryouts.

As the summer haze came to an end and the school year started up, Aamna can get excited about this year's debate season.

Aamna is more excited about this season then most because of it being her senior year and that it’s in person this year. Unfortunately because of Covid last year this forced students and staff to stay in their homes and do the season virtually.

This year will still be different then those in years past with taking more of a hybrid approach. This means that instead of handing back paper results and ballets it will still stay online.

She has been on the Linden vs Douglas debate since freshman year. This is a philosophy driven one on one debate compared to a public forum which is an evidence driven two on two debate. In Linden Douglas even if you don’t have the best evidence as long as you have a good augment you most likely will win. Aamna has learned and has become proficient at this for her 4 years on the team.

Her practice starts at the beginning of September and first debate only a few weeks after that. After high school her hopes are to get accepted into NYU and go into pre-law.
