The Cardinal

Canfield High School offers a wide arrange of sports to their students. Cole Rothbauer has explored two of those sports: baseball and basketball. Although he has officially hung up his Kyrie 2’s, he has not hung up his baseball cleats.

Baseball has always been a strong inspiration for Cole ever since he started playing at the age of four for McCune. Cole has successfully and passionately followed his baseball career all the way up to high school.

“Baseball has been a large part of my life up to this point and I feel like it always will be. Baseball is a way for me to unwind and relax and I’m very fortunate to be apart of such a talented team” said Cole.

Cole’s love for baseball doesn’t just extend to Canfield, Cole is a big Cleveland Indians fan. One of his favorite players on the team is star shortstop  Francisco Lindor. Although Cole doesn’t play shortstop he tells me “I admire the way he plays, he never gives up and he has a very confident and composed attitude going into every game, he’s a professional, and I hope that I can play half as good as he does”, with great enthusiasm.

Cole hopes to take this type of inspiration with him into this upcoming season and to greatly improve from his sophomore season.

Cole concludes by saying “I was blessed to have a great and healthy season last year and I want to build off of that this upcoming season.”
